Thenmala is equidistant from Thiruvanathapuram and Kollam, and it takes about 2 hours to reach here from both the cities. The project area is currently divided into three major zones- Culture Zone, Leisure Zone and Adventure Zone. Lush green forest Park, Adventure Park, Children’s Park, Butterfly Safari, Musical Dancing Fountain, Boating, Trekking, Hiking and Night Camping etc. are some of the many attractions here. Thenmala in Malayalam means Honey Hill. It is believed that the honey collected from this region is of very good quality owing to its unique biological settings.
Konni is situated 10kms from Pathanamthitta- the district head-quarters. It is a forest village situated on the banks of Achencoil River has a long and rich history of man-forest interface. There is rich biodiversity in Konni as well as abundance of rivers and streams all around. Konni also has an elephant training centre known as Aanakoodu, where tourists can view the taming and even feed and bathe the elephants. One can also go on elephant rides. Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Palakkad district of Kerala and is definitely one of the best eco-tourism destinations of Kerala. This Wildlife Sanctuary is spread across 277sq km between ranges of hills.The sanctuary has rarely seen animals like the Bengal Tiger and lion-tailed macaque.This place also has the Kannimara Teak tree which is the oldest teak tree at 350 years.
