Hawa Beach

This beach has gotten its name due to Hotel Samudra run by the Kerala Tourism Department. Unlike the two other beaches of Kovalam, this beach is secluded and not thronged by crowds. Even though Kovalam tourism has flourished over the years, this beach has still managed to retain its beauty and serenity. This beach is famous among tourists who want to stay away from the crowds and have some privacy. This beach is most preferred by the local fishermen for fishing, and you can always watch them 

in action. One can see many ships far out in the sea, and this itself makes for a beautiful view from the shore. Lighthouse Beach

Lighthouse beach happens to be the largest out of the three beaches in Kovalam. This beach owes its name to the Lighthouse that stands at the Southern end of the stretch. This 30m lighthouse situated on the Kurumkal hillock is the prime attraction here. It is built with stones and painted in red and white horizontal stripes. There is an observation platform in the Lighthouse, which can be reached by climbing 142 steps. From this platform once can see the Beemapalli Mosque in one direction and the Poovar in the other. This beach is safe for swimming and ideal for adventure activities like parasailing, surfing and paragliding. This beach too, is a hit among Indian tourists as well as foreigners.
